Briana Evigan was born in Los Angeles, California on October 23, 1986. The daughter of Pamela C. Serpe and Greg Evigan. Evigan has two older siblings, Jason and Vanessa Lee. Both her parents are in the entertainment industry and she has followed in their footsteps (especially those of her father's).

Evigan has studied dance for nine years and trained under the tutelage of choreographer and reality television celebrity, Shane Sparks. She is also the co-founder, vocalist and keyboardist for the pop/alternative rock band Moorish Idol. Currently, she is also studying speech and communication at the Los Angeles Valley College.

Her film debut came in 1996 where she played the daughter of Will South (played by her real-life father Greg Evigan) in House of the Damned. Her next appearance was the "Numb" music video of alternative rock band Linkin Park. In addition to her music video appearance, she was also a contestant on the MTV reality show "Next."

Something Sweet and Bottoms Up (starring Paris Hilton) are both films that Evigan is credited in appearance. Her big silver screen debut however was the lead role of 2008's Step Up 2: The Streets where she portrayed Andy West, a street-dancer thrust into a seemingly high society arts school.

Evigan, along with co-star Robert Hoffman, received "Best Kiss" for their movie "Step Up 2: The Streets" at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards. At the event, the two accepted their award by sharing a kiss similar to the one they shared in the movie.

At the moment two of her 2009 movies, Subject: I Love You and S. Darko have already finished filming. However the third announced film, Burning Bright is yet to begin production.
